Dr. Weimin Wu received his Ph.D. in nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) physics from the University of Nottingham. Prior to coming to NIAMS, Dr. Wu did a postdoctoral fellowship at Purdue University. He is currently working to solve virus/protein structures, utilizing his expertise with NMR, Cryo-EM, and X-ray.
Dr. Wu is an expert in both Cryo-EM data collection and image processing. He has been working in the high-resolution structures of HBV, HK97, P22, phi6, T7, Epsilon15, etc, and in the asymmetric structures of phiKZ, T7, P22, RIO1and many others using a bubblegram imaging method he designed and algorithms he developed for asymmetric reconstructions.
