Summary
Brinda Bhatt, Ph.D., double majored in Biology and Classical Civilizations and completed her bachelor's degree at Emory University. She went on to earn a master's degree in Molecular Microbiology and Immunology from the Keck School of Medicine at the University of Southern California, interrogating the influence of diet and air pollution on the development of obesity. Subsequently, Dr. Bhatt studied immune function in the contexts of colonic inflammation and signaling in CD8 T cells, fulfilling the requirements for a Ph.D. from The Graduate School at Augusta University. In 2021, she joined the NIH as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the NIAMS.
Research Statement
Dr. Bhatt’s research interests are focused on gaining a deeper understanding of T cell biology, with the ultimate goal of benefitting patient health. At the NIAMS, she examines the response of T cells to glucocorticoid treatment, utilizing both bioinformatics and wet laboratory-based techniques.
