Brooke Boyd graduated from the University of Miami with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Nutrition and minors in chemistry, political science, and American sign language and disability studies. She trained as an undergraduate researcher in Dr. Stephen Nimer’s laboratory at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center. Brooke’s project focused on the effect of mutations in the SWI/SNF chromatin remodeling complex on chronic inflammation in hematopoietic malignancies, which included acute myeloid leukemia and myelodysplastic syndromes.
