Mr. Nee is the Budget Officer and Chief of the NIAMS Financial Management Branch. As such, he oversees the planning, coordination, execution, and reporting of the Institute’s financial management activities. These activities include managing the Institute’s internal financial systems as well as its annual budget of more than $600 million. The Financial Management Branch, together with the Scientific Planning, Policy, and Analysis Branch, develops the Institute’s annual Congressional Budget Justification.

Mr. Nee advises NIAMS leadership and staff about budgetary and accounting matters. He also plays a major role in responding to questions from Congress and other stakeholders about the NIAMS budget.

He has been an active member of the NIH Budget Community since 2011. He joined NIAMS in 2019.
