Garvan M. Vines, B.A., received his bachelor’s degree in biological sciences from the University of Maryland in 2021. His pursuits for scientific research guided him to take a summer internship in the laboratory of Dr. Daphne Matume at the University of Venda in Polokwane, South Africa. He later joined the lab of Dr. Tasha Morrison for a postbaccalaureate position to study response mechanisms for innate and adaptive immune cells.
