Summary
Jeremy Scutenaire, Ph.D. has previously worked on projects dedicated to better understand the role of YTH-domain containing proteins as the main “readers” of N6-methyladenosine, the most abundant internal modifications of mRNAs. During his Ph.D., he studied the impact of one of these YTH-protein in plant development and in response to stress, initiating pioneer works in the role of m6A-binding proteins in the plant kingdom.
More recently, his first post-doctoral project demonstrated that the only YTH member present in budding yeast is required for a proper meiotic progression and facilitates mRNA destabilization of key methylated transcripts during meiotic prophase.
