Summary
Dr. Dai has a strong background in biology, immunology, microbiology, vaccinology, biochemistry, and clinical trials. She is skilled in using animal models and biological assays as well as flow cytometry and PCR. Her research experience includes DNA, RNA, and protein/polysaccharide purification and quantitation as well as human cell-line culture, PBMC/PMN isolation and differentiation, and antibody production. She is also proficient in sample preparation for flow cytometry, barcoding bio-specimens, vaccine characterization and proficiency evaluation, and GMP procedures.
Research Statement
Dr. Dai’s current research focus is to characterize the immunologic aspects of vasculitis and relapsing polychondritis. She is involved in translational research related to the molecular classification of disease.
Previously, Dr. Dai studied vaccine development for TB and other diseases at the NICHD. She worked with bacterial pathogens and monoclonal antibodies for human use in addition to developing polysaccharide conjugate vaccines against bacterial infectious diseases for preclinical and clinical trials.
