Ryan Lombardi is the Deputy Associate Director for Management and Operations/Deputy Executive Officer. She provides leadership and direction for all of the Institute’s administrative management functions, including financial management, information technology, space and facilities management, acquisitions, human resources, management analysis, ethics, program analysis, and communications. She partners with the NIAMS Chief Diversity Officer on NIAMS' Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility strategic planning efforts as well as the NIAMS Intramural and Extramural Programs to ensure the success and coordination of NIAMS programs and activities.

Ms. Lombardi joined NIAMS in July 2022 and her career at NIH spans more than 25 years. Prior to coming to NIAMS, she was the Chief Grants Management Officer at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI). Ryan earned her B.S. in Accounting and M.S. in Management from the University of Maryland. She has also completed NIH’s Senior Leadership Program, as well as the Office of Personnel Management’s (OPM's) Federal Executive Institute's Leadership for a Democratic Society.
