Summary
Vishal Patel received his B.S. in Neuroscience from Carnegie Mellon University, where he studied the contribution of the dorsal and ventral visual pathways in object recognition under Dr. Marlene Behrmann. Vishal joined the NIAMS as a postbaccalaureate fellow in 2022.
Research Statement
Currently, Vishal is working to understand the drug dosage effect of glucocorticoids in different cell types using RNA-Seq, ATAC-Seq, and CUT & RUN techniques. Under the supervision of Dr. Luis Franco, his goal is to identify an adequate, non-toxic dosage concentration while sustaining the desired glucocorticoid response.
