Summary

Yenealem joined the NIAMS Lupus Clinical Research Program in 2014 as a clinical research nurse specialist. She has worked in the clinical research field since 2006. Yenealem is an associate investigator and interested in clinical trials research to find new and better ways to treat lupus patients.  She has developed infrastructure to ensure proper monitoring and evaluation of studies including design of clinical trials database forms, SOPs and electronic medical record order sets. Yenealem is first point of contact for monitoring entities as well as for IRB for study requirements and has also developed and refined protocols further to ensure IRB readiness. She ensures proper and timely filing of serious adverse events, amendments, annual reports, and other regulatory documents. Yenealem oversees ongoing protocol operations to ensure study compliance, troubleshoots possible protocol violations, and provides clinical care support primarily for the Lupus Program at the NIAMS.
