Summary
Dr. Yuka Kanno’s primary research interest has been the regulation of gene expression by transcription factors. Using JAK-STAT signaling pathway as a model system, she has profiled genome-wide chromatin conformation and gene transcription following STAT activation in immune cells.
Research Statement
Dr. Kanno hopes to understand cell-type specific genomic organization that regulated gene transcription during normal and pathological immune responses, and how extracellular signals influence epigenetic information built in chromatin of immune cells.
