Strategic Initiatives

The Strategic Initiatives section of the Office of the Director:

  • Identifies emerging scientific opportunities and scientific knowledge gaps that merit further research.
  • Creates opportunities for researchers through the development of new science initiatives, tools, and public resources to accelerate progress in NIAMS-related research.
  • Facilitates partnerships with other NIH institutes and centers, other government agencies, non-profit and commercial entities.
  • Advises NIAMS Director on key strategic goals.
  • Evaluates NIAMS programs and activities.
