Having dealt with atopic dermatitis his whole life, Paul Kim became interested in studying the skin early on. To pursue this interest, he joined the lab of Dr. Jennifer Zhang in the Dermatology Department of Duke Medical School, where he studied the function of the circadian rhythm in the skin and its effect on antiviral immunity. Paul came to the NIH hoping to hone his research skills, broaden his knowledge in dermatology, and meet other passionate scientists.
