Summary
You Che, Ph.D., received his doctorate degree in environmental microbiology from the University of Hong Kong (HKU). Currently, Dr. Che is a postdoctoral fellow in the Cutaneous Microbiome and Inflammation Laboratory at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases.
Research Statement
Dr. Che's research at HKU centered around the problem of the environmental dimension of antimicrobial resistance. He employed interdisciplinary approaches of NGS (Nanopore sequencing), bioinformatics, and molecular techniques to understand the transfer mechanisms and evolutionary process in shaping the dissemination of resistance and the emergence and development of multidrug-resistant pathogens.
His current research interest is investigating the skin microbes in patients and healthy volunteers. He is particularly interested in studying the interactions between microbiota and immunity in primary immunodeficiency patients.
